Taylor Devices, Inc. announced receipt of a $1.3 million order from Pakistan for the firm's seismic dampers for Avari Hotels International in the city of Islamabad.

A total of more than 200 Taylor Dampers, each rated at output forces up to 160 tons will be used to provide seismic protection for a hotel being constructed for Avari Hotels International in the city of Islamabad. The existing seven-story, four-section reinforced concrete structure that will be seismically upgraded and converted into a luxury hotel. The design requirements call for an earthquake protection level for the hotel that is approximately equivalent to that of northern California without extensive changes or reconstruction of the building frame.
