About Rafael Noble
Rafael Noble spent the majority of his early childhood in Cuba, he was raised by his Cuban mother and African-American father. The family relocated to Illinois after his father, Rafael ‘Ray’ Noble was drafted to play baseball by the Chicago Cubs. Come his high school years, Rafael made another move to California with his mother. Upon finishing high school, and being raised in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles, Rafael elected to continue in to a higher education and chose a double major in Political Science and Public Relations. Following his public relations education, Rafael worked as a concert promoter after college.
With his move to Los Angeles, many different opportunities presented themselves to Raphael. The early 80’s was at the forefront of the computer revolution. Rafael took full advantage of this new frontier and immediately involved himself, taking a job with Texas Instruments, in which he educated people about computers to spread knowledge and ultimately sales. This was working well for Rafael, but he also had other passions spanning past computers. Rafael decided to take some acting classes. This is when he enrolled in Brian Reese’s courses in West Hollywood. At first he had second thoughts about his decision, because all the experienced actors that were enrolled in the class somewhat intimidated him. When it came time to do his lines, he remembered blanking out, and having the shakes in his legs, but he persevered through the nerves and read his lines.
To Rafael’s surprise, the instructor actually saw through his jitters, and in his personal opinion was very impressed with Rafael’s performances, calling him a natural. From there Rafael obtained an agent and landed his first gig on the TV show “City Of Angels”, and he could not believe the sight of a star on a dressing room door that actually displayed his name.
Along with his acting, Rafael also works a day job with the HIPAA, where he is as a security officer for the health services department. Essentially his job is to see that all health care information is kept private. Prior to this, he worked as an administrative law litigator for about 9 years. Rafael’s first professional acting job though, was in 2000 after which he joined the Screen Actors Guild in 2001, and has been acting professionally ever since. Noble does not consider himself a commercial actor, therefore he states that he would rather not do game shows strictly for PR reasons, based on his background experience in the field. Aside from the TV and film, Noble looked to expand his portfolio and gained some theatre experience in a number of plays, and, in the near future may be starring as the Wizard in the off Broadway sequel to The Wizard of Oz.
Rafael’s recent appearances include The West Wing, CSI New York, Las Vegas, ER (guest lead), Malcolm In The Middle, and Close To Home. He has also appeared on Dragnet and Cold Case. Along with his major TV roles, he has also done about 20 independent films such as It Wasn’t Supposed To Be Like This and Coronado. He has also taken part in major theatrical films along side 50 Cent and Robert Deniro. Rafael has a passion for what he does and he looks forward to doing much more TV, movie, and theatre for many years to come.
