LexisNexis® Legal & Professional today announced the addition of Netter Images the recognized standard in medical visual aids to its award-winning medical malpractice solution, LexisNexis® MedMal Navigator®. Offering precise, full-color and high-resolution content across areas of medicine and health science, the collection of more than 10,000 Netter images and illustrations is sourced from fellow RELX Group company Elsevier. With the addition of Netter, LexisNexis MedMal Navigator now features the largest and most recognized collection of medical imagery in the legal research industry, empowering medical malpractice lawyers to clearly and credibly demonstrate the anatomy, injury or disease relevant to any case.
The Netter collection’s coverage of medicine and health science includes basic science, diseases, disorders and treatments, and constitutes a natural reference point for both learning and reviewing new concepts in the basic sciences and clinical medicine. The use of medical imagery is critical to successfully positioning a case and any associated distress. MedMal Navigator users can now easily search for, save and download medical images and illustrations directly within the tool’s home page dashboard, saving them time and making case assessment and preparation faster and more efficient.
“Medical malpractice is complex and highly technical, so integrating tools and resources into MedMal Navigator that help malpractice legal professionals quickly master and confidently demonstrate the medical aspects of their cases is key to our customers’ success,” said Jeff Pfeifer, vice president of Product Management for the North American Research Solutions business at LexisNexis. “With the addition of the Netter collection, users get one-click access to the largest collection of medical images, helping them bring their cases to life with greater impact than ever before.”
Launched in 2013, LexisNexis MedMal Navigator is an innovative all-in-one research and analytical solution specifically designed to assist medical malpractice attorneys in assessing cases and formulating effective, on-point strategy.
“Whether its full-text medical journals, clinical topic summaries, standard of care tools, expert witness data, verdict and settlement analysis or now medical images from Netter LexisNexis MedMal Navigator is a powerful, all-in-one resource to simplify complex and technical medical malpractice case research and sharpen case strategy,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, managing director of the North American Research Solutions business at LexisNexis. “We continually invest in content and technology innovations to provide users with optimized solutions that improve their workflow and help them reach decisions faster and more effectively.”
Delivered via the state-of-the-art Lexis Advance® legal research platform, LexisNexis MedMal Navigator dramatically streamlines the typical process of medical malpractice case assessment and preparation.
