ISO 9001:2000 is used for certification/registration and contractual purposes by organisations seeking recognition of their quality management system.
Says Regent operations director Jonathan King:
"It’s an important standard for any company to attain that needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide services that meet customer and regulatory requirements as well as aim to enhance customer satisfaction. If you have a quality attitude, you need a quality system."
Regent has also become registered to the Contractor Health and Safety (CHAS) Assessment Scheme.
Developed by local authority health and safety and contract professionals, supported by the Health and Safety Executive, the Scheme can be used by any public sector organisation in their pre-qualification process for contractor application for approved/select list or short-listing.
The Scheme assesses adequacy and compliance of member contractors’ health and safety policy statements, organisation for health, and safety and specific arrangements, to a single, common standard acceptable to CHAS members and users.
Selecting contractors which have demonstrated these standards goes some way to ensuring, so far is reasonably practicable, compliance with health and safety law, says the organisation.
"Regent has a relatively high number of public sector bodies on its customer base and again, we take every opportunity to assure existing and prospect customers of our commitment to theirs’ and to our employees’ best interests," says King.
