Lexmark International, Inc., a global technology leader, announces that Portland-based Maine Medical Center (MMC), a member of the MaineHealth integrated delivery system, will deploy the Lexmark Accounts Payable (AP) Automation solution to speed processing, improve visibility and increase efficiency within the invoice processing and approval functions.
The Lexmark AP Automation solution, including Perceptive Intelligent Capture and Perceptive Content, was selected by MMC to manage invoice processing across all of the MaineHealth entities and integrate with Infor’s Lawson ERP system. This will provide users with a central location for the storage and retrieval of invoice images and data, minimize the need for manual data entry, improve data accuracy and enable faster approvals.
Deployed via a cloud based SaaS model, Lexmark AP Automation is designed to speed deployments and allow users to realize a better return on their investment.
Lexmark AP Automation uses Perceptive Intelligent Capture for accurate, template-free extraction of invoice data. It provides advanced workflow to orchestrate the processing of all invoices and simplify audits while leveraging Perceptive Content for the storage and retrieval of invoice images and data for decision support purposes.
One hundred percent of U.S.-based HIMSS Stage 7 healthcare systems use Lexmark products and solutions.
Lexmark is positioned as a "leader" in Gartner's most recent Magic Quadrants for enterprise content management, enterprise search and managed print services; and in Forrester’s most recent Waves for ECM transactional services and ECM business content services.
“The decision to seek an automated accounts payable solution was based on our vision for the implementation of a full shared services model for accounts payable within MaineHealth,” as noted by Jeff Winchenbach, Sr. Director, Fiscal Services, Maine Medical Center. “Once fully implemented, the solution is expected to increase the productivity of staff, provide greater control over invoices from receipt to payment, and provide greater visibility into our procurement activities. These benefits can then be used to ultimately reduce costs and provide greater resources in support of the Medical Center’s mission of education, research, and patient centered care.”
“During the course of vendor evaluations, it became clear that the Lexmark AP Automation solution would allow us to achieve our vision while also providing scalability and expanded functionality in the years to come. Customer experience and testimonials were also important in our selection process. Each Lexmark customer we spoke with was able to provide ongoing examples of the solution delivering expected results.”
“Paper based invoice processing is a significant barrier to realizing productivity and efficient workflows in healthcare provider organizations,” said Reynolds C. Bish, vice president of Lexmark and president of Lexmark Enterprise Software. “Lexmark provides a unique solution for integrating financial and clinical content with existing applications. The tight integration we’ve achieved with Infor’s Lawson and other ERP systems enables users to fully manage the capture, processing and approval of invoices, resulting in greater efficiencies and easier information access."
