The event, taking place at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco from February 24th - 26th, brings together engineers, technology experts and research & development professionals from leading companies. Participants are working together to discover the tools, technologies, and techniques for developing the autonomous car.
Manaswini Rath, Head of ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles Practice, at KPIT will be speaking on February 25th during the technical advancements track. Her session is titled “AUTOSAR Framework for Autonomous Vehicle System Development Changes to development process to reduce complexity and cost". Ms. Rath will specifically discuss the AUTOSAR framework for autonomous vehicle system development process changes that could reduce complexity and cost.
“KPIT has extensive experience working with many OEMs and Tier 1s through the course of their development of ADAS systems and features which puts us in a unique position in understanding what the industry needs as the autonomous vehicles space grows,” said Rajesh Janwadkar, Head Product Engineering Services at KPIT. “With so much software in the space, standardization is the only way to achieve faster and more robust development as we move forward. KPIT’s established AUTOSAR product portfolio and experience will help bring that knowledge into ADAS systems and features development.”
KPIT’s session will touch on aspects of autonomous vehicle development and AUTOSAR integration framework associated with it. Today, the traditional way of software development - features get developed and tested through several iterations and then integration into AUTOSAR platform is performed. This is inefficient and time consuming. With the AUTOSAR Process Framework, we are able to bring efficiency and robustness back into the vehicle software environment. The change in the operative mindset as well as the collaboration among ecosystems is imperative.
The Autonomous Cars Silicon Valley Event hosted by Automotive IQ aims to bring together automotive experts to discuss solutions to today’s challenges in developing an autonomous vehicle. This includes communication system upgrades, RF structures, as well as navigation and 4G/cellular systems for vehicle-to-vehicles communication and pedestrian tracking.
