Sweet Valley, PA, United States, 2007/03/25 - GettingMarriedinNEPA.com, an online wedding directory for those planning a wedding in the Wilkes-Barre and Scranton area, recently went live.
The site’s main page links users to pages such as “The Bride,” “The Groom,” “The Reception & Ceremony,” and well, “Everything Else.” Under each main page are subcategories, linking users to every Wilkes-Barre and Scranton area wedding service imaginable: wedding gowns, favors, invitations, reception and ceremony sites, tuxedo rental, transportation, honeymoon information, DJs, bands, wedding officiants, caterers, announcement and license information, tent and toilet rental and more.
The wedding guide was a much-needed service says the site’s creator, Donna Talarico.
“Newly engaged myself, I turned to the web for local information. There was nothing comprehensive. My goal is to create the most comprehensive and consistently maintained list of wedding service providers in Wilkes-Barre, Scranton and surrounding areas,” said Talarico.
She adds that the key to making Getting Married in NEPA as jam-packed with wedding listings as possible is to offer listings free of charge.
“I feel that for the guide to be expansive and to be the best service available, I need to include everyone. Every wedding vendor I could find received a complimentary listing. I do offer enhanced listings as a way for vendors to stand out from the rest, and also to cover costs for my time and fees,” she said.
She added that she plans to use search marketing through Google and Yahoo to increase the site’s visibility, as well as other unconventional methods of promotion, such as a MySpace page.
Getting Married in NEPA also offers its own Amazon wedding store, a news blog, a community forum, articles, a user stories and reviews section and a mailing list.
