Based on its recent analysis of value-added services (VAS) within the communications service provider (CSP) marketplace, Stratecast | Frost & Sullivan recognizes Huawei with the 2015 Global Stratecast Value-Added Service Enabling Technology Leadership Award. Huawei has demonstrated visionary leadership by leveraging technologies and solution designs that drive both network service consolidation and cloud enablement. This strategy has allowed Huawei to leverage its strong managed services expertise and advanced platforms to guide CSPs in their transition to the cloud. By focusing on VAS instead of infrastructure alone, Huawei has become a leader in cloud-based service delivery and support.

Huawei has aggressively built its presence in the managed services operations center (SOC) space by assisting in the building and operation of more than 20 SOCs, more than any other supplier. Although the SOC was not part of the VAS Cloud evaluation, it did establish Huawei as an innovator that supports CSPs with both technology and services.
As a part of the Huawei SDN/NFV solution, Huawei VAS Cloud provides an advanced ICT convergent solution based on the advantages NFV provides to CSPs.
The VAS Cloud solution helps CSPs break down the silos of support infrastructure built for each service and the correspondingly redundant and costly systems integration efforts required to make it work.
The VAS Cloud consolidates services into a single cloud environment that reuses network and IT components. By significantly reducing the amount of VAS infrastructure used by many of its CSP customers, it aids those CSPs in launching new services effectively. The VAS Cloud also reconstructs the service architecture, making it more flexible and open. Huawei VAS solutions already support 36 of the top 50 CSPs in the world. The combined Huawei VAS solutions serve 200 CSPs.

Another important role of Huawei VAS Cloud is to build a convergent communication platform for both voice and messaging that brings more value to the LTE network. Such a platform will help the huge user base of 2G/3G subscribers smoothly migrate to 4G. More importantly, it will deliver capabilities that support the evolution from B2C to B2B, and expand the enterprise and small-to-medium sized business opportunity in order to grow revenue. There are already services, like Cloud PBX, Aibaba “Ali Number”, anti-harassment, virtual number etc, coming from diverse sources such as the CSP, third-party developers and Huawei’s partners.
