Palo Alto, CA, United States, 2007/03/21 - Frost & Sullivan selected Philips Automotive Lighting as the recipient of the 2007 Frost & Sullivan Product Innovation Award in the North American bulb aftermarket.
The company’s user-friendly, flexible, and sophisticated solutions give it an edge in the market.
Philip Automotive Lighting's products seamlessly integrate across all areas of the manufacturing process to drive productivity to higher levels. Its NightGuide, X-treme Power, and MotoVision series of headlamp bulbs indicates Philips dedication to innovation.
“Leveraging the latest technology in the lighting industry and extensive experience in the most up-to-date manufacturing techniques, the company has effectively created a strong foothold in the North American lighting bulb aftermarket,” says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Rahul Ganju. “These state-of-the-art headlamp bulbs are targeted at consumers that are not only looking for performance and safety, but design and looks as well.”
The NightGuide has a special coating on the headlamp bulb that project a specific color into three distinct visual zones for spectacularly improved nighttime visibility. Its beams are 50 percent brighter and 50 feet longer than standard halogen bulbs’.
X-treme Power is an excellent high performance headlamp that delivers up to 80 percent more light than standard halogens because of "increased filament boosting" and the beam length varies from 35 to 80 feet. The beam does not create glare, thereby increasing safety and complying with the Department of Transportation (DOT) specifications.
The MotoVision headlamp is targeted at the niche motorcycle market and uses a unique orange reflection that makes the motorcycle more visible in traffic, both during the day and at night. As it generates 40 percent more white light than standard motorcycle headlamps and produces a beam that projects up to 50 feet longer, it lengthens and widens the field of vision.
All the products adhere to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards, especially because Philips Automotive Lighting is a leading OEM supplier itself and aims to uphold its high standards.
Philip Automotive Lighting has managed to garner the trust and loyalty of its customers due to its focus on product quality and innovation. To expand its market share, it has formed several strategic alliances with companies such as Agilent Technologies in 1999 to form Lumileds. Philips now has a controlling 96 percent stake in Lumileds.
“Philips Automotive Lighting has always set the benchmark for operational excellence as well as visionary leadership in the North American lighting industry,” notes Ganju. “The guidance and vision of strong leadership and efficient top-down planning have ensured that it has emerged as a company that has consistently strived to achieve its goals, in turn creating maximum value to its shareholders.”
Each year Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry. The recipient company has shown innovation by launching a broad line of emerging products and technologies.
