Levallois-Perret, Hauts-de-Seine, France, 2015/08/05 - Alstom has been awarded a contract by Wuhan Kaidi Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd to design and supply two 300 MW Circulating Fluidised Bed (CFB) boilers for the Thang Long Thermal Power Plant - Alstom.com. FR0010220475; ALO
Once installed, these will be the largest CFB boilers in Vietnam.
The Thang Long CFB boilers will comprise Alstom’s state-of-the-art technology in CFB design and proven expertise in the combustion of difficult-to-burn fuels, thus providing unmatched environmental performance. Thanks to the CFB-firing system, the boilers will burn local anthracite in the most clean and efficient conditions, helping to reach the regulatory limits for NOx and SOx emissions without the need for additional back-end flue gas treatment such as SCR or FGD systems.
Once operational, the plant is expected to contribute over 4,000 GWh (Gigawatt hours) of electricity to the national power grid annually, supporting Vietnam’s growing electrical demand and reinforcing the nation’s energy security, whilst in the same time creating jobs and employment in the province.
“We are excited to play a part in helping the burgeoning Vietnamese economy achieve its growth goals and its strategic energy objectives. This installation is a reflection of Alstom’s world-class technology and we will continue developing innovative and clean ways to producing more productive and efficient energy for the benefit of our customers,” said Pascal Radue, Alstom Vice President Boilers Product Line.
Thang Long Thermal Power Plant Project is being developed by Thang Long Power Plant JSC, a local power generation company based in Hanoi. Wuhan Kaidi Electric Power Engineering Co.
