SaskTel today announced the launch of the new Machine to Machine (M2M) Management Centre, an online portal that allows business customers to control and monitor the operational status of their wireless M2M devices while gaining valuable analytics about usage.
“SaskTel’s M2M service essentially allows wireless devices to talk to each other and transmit information,” said Ron Styles, SaskTel President and CEO. “Our goal is to help business customers streamline processes, boost productivity, and increase profitability through M2M technology.”
As more devices become digitized, including meters, sensors, modems, GPS receivers, cars and household appliances, the ability to track, manage and make sense of the data they output is a real concern for business owners. The M2M Management Centre will help business owners simply automate important functions like stock management, remote or equipment monitoring, fleet status, or location based tracking of assets.
Developed in collaboration with Ericsson, The SaskTel M2M Management Centre (sasktel.com/M2M) will enable SaskTel M2M customers to actively manage and control their connected devices from an easy to use, self-serve dashboard. In addition to correlating and presenting information in one location, the M2M Management Centre will also allow for self activation and deactivation of M2M SIM cards, monitoring and identifying of real time events and network utilization, data pooling, access to troubleshooting tools, and reporting.
Angel Ruiz, Head of Ericsson Region North America, says: “Ericsson’s platform on which the SaskTel subscription service is based has been successfully integrated and deployed worldwide with multiple leading carriers. SaskTel now has the opportunity to move up the M2M value chain in order to capture higher proportions of available revenue within the space of IoT. We are proud to support SaskTel’s success in the M2M/IoT business.”
