The GE Healthcare Revolution™ EVO and Revolution™ GSI scanners, which will be used by the hospital to help guide care for a wide range of patients, were officially unveiled by Defence Minister, Csaba Hende and Minister of Health for Hungary, Dr. Gábor Zombor together with Major General István Szabó, Commander, Honvéd Hospital and Mr. Vasilis Sakkas, Region General Manager at GE Healthcare. The HUF 500 million investment in new medical imaging technologies from GE will help clinicians at the hospital offer better care to more patients supporting the diagnosis and evaluation of numerous conditions such as trauma, stroke, cancer and coronary artery disease. The scanners, which are the first of their type in Hungary, offer a number of advantages over previous generation GE technology, positioning Honvéd Hospital to meet and support the future demands of country’s healthcare system.
Welcoming guests to view the new scanners, Major General István Szabó said,“The new CT devices which are serving the work of the MH Healthcare Centre of Honvéd Hospital and the Central Radiological Diagnostics Department also symbolize our commitment towards the continuous infrastructure development of the Centre, to increasing the number of patients, as well as to advancing Hungarian healthcare. Our determined aim is to preserve the role of Honvéd Hospital as a top hospital in the region."
The GE Healthcare Revolution™ EVO has been designed to drive increased productivity and patient throughput in busy medical imaging departments, helping improve workflow by up to 40%1, allowing more patients to be seen in less time. The high quality of the scanner’s images allow clinicians to see fine anatomical details, providing a pathway to a quick confident diagnosis. In line with recent European directives on reducing patients’ exposure to radiation from X-rays, the scanner is equipped with technology2 that can help reduce dose by up to 82% compared with earlier generation technologies.
From the same family of scanners, the GE Healthcare Revolution™ GSI helps make clinical excellence routine, delivering consistently high-definition imaging and expanding diagnostic capabilities for diseases such as cancer and heart disease. The scanner enables clinicians to take CT beyond classical anatomical assessment to quantitative tissue characterization and advanced functional imaging.
