Web Technology Group (WTG) have been appointed by Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) to plan, build and manage a knowledge management solution supporting 6,000 staff, across 180 locations and a population of 1.6million.
Many NHS Trusts have begun the journey to the ‘paperless NHS’ by digitising patient records and other clinical data. However, TEWV and WTG are digitising the knowledge, tools and processes that enable the organisation to deliver healthcare services and communicate internally and externally.
The WTG solution will deliver an integrated system for the management of knowledge and information across website, intranet, extranet and ERDMS (Electronic Document and Records Management System). Data and information will be able to move freely, safely and securely throughout the health and care sector.
“We’re delighted to be working with TEWV,” said James Steventon, CEO. “This engagement makes use of all WTG’s offerings from strategy development to solution delivery to managed services. It will be a step change in how TEWV handles knowledge and information and will deliver real efficiencies at the same time. We think other public sector bodies have much to learn from this approach too.”
