Scandinavian Airlines’ (SAS) completely retrofit A330 left on its premiere transatlantic flight last month (February 17th, 2015), travelling from Copenhagen, Denmark to Newark, N.J., USA. The plane, named Erik Viking, is the first of seven siblings in the airline’s A330/340 family to be fit with the new SAS cabin.
One of the central elements is the cabin lighting system: SAS chose HelioJet® SpectrumCC for its homogeneous light quality, produced by combining special optics and LED technology. This airline is the first to integrate this new cabin color lighting developed by specialty glass and lighting expert SCHOTT and marketed by Lufthansa Technik. HelioJet® was paired with Lufthansa Technik`s mood lighting system to create a special visual effect using a wide spectrum of colors.
