Over 60 organizations from more than 25 countries, comprising of regional energy authorities, international investors and financiers, independent power producers, and various technology providers will convene next month in Nairobi, Kenya for the Africa Mini Grids Summit 2014 to address electricity shortages hampering industry development and to explore the deployment of mini grids to meet the chronic electricity shortfalls in the African continent.

The Summit will feature a distinguished panel of speakers from United States, Belgium, Denmark, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, United Kingdom, and Zambia.

Regional power authorities presenting at the Conference will include: Robert Pavel Oimeke, Director Renewable Energy, Energy Regulatory Commission, Kenya; Dr Lutengano Mwakahesya, Director General, Rural Energy Agency, Tanzania; Benon Bena, Head of Off-Grid Renewable Energy Development, Rural Electrification Agency, Uganda; Yisehaq Seboqa, Head of Off-grid Rural Electrification Program, Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Energy, Ethiopia; Geoffrey Musonda, Chief Executive Officer, Rural Electrification Authority Zambia.
