During his tour of several countries in the Middle East and Asia Pacific, the Vice Chairman of the leading Spanish hotel company and one of the world’s most important resort companies today announced the signature of two luxury hotels in major destinations: Qatar and Indonesia. The future Meliá Doha, whose opening is scheduled for the first quarter of 2015, and the Gran Meliá Bintan, which will open in 2017.
The Meliá Doha will occupy 39 floors of the fabulous Bin Samickh tower, located in West Bay, the most coveted area of the Qatari capital, and will provide 282 rooms and suites and a wide range of restaurants and wellbeing and beauty facilities. Alongside the Chairman and CEO of Tamniyat Qatar Real Estate, the property owner and developer, Gabriel Escarrer, Vice Chairman and CEO of Meliá, explained the importance of Qatar as a destination, supported by its economic prosperity the country has the highest income per capita in the world and its growing influence in various areas.
