St Albans, Herts, United Kingdom, 2014/09/09 - Autodesk, the world leader in 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software and services, has been named along with Docebo, makers of the Cloud-based, SaaS E-Learning Platform, on the shortlist for one of the 2014 UK E-Learning Age Awards.
This year’s Awards judged by an independent panel, chaired by Tony Frascina attracted over 250 entries. The Autodesk/ Docebo entry - one of eight shortlisted in the ‘best learning management system (LMS) implementation’ category was brought to the judges’ attention both by Docebo and by Engage Global Solutions, which manages a number of Autodesk’s global partner programs worldwide.
After extensive research into LMSs, Engage chose the Docebo LMS to implement a blended solution to scale the Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) program for a global, multi-cultural and multi-lingual audience. Alessio Artuffo, Docebo’s Chief Operating Officer in North America, commented: “The Docebo system allows for ‘localization options’ to be included thus allowing the system to continue to grow in line with the needs and goals of a growing global company.”
As a result of using Docebo’s LMS, which allows easy scaling for global implementation as well as allowing for localization, all of Autodesk’s 11 distributors around the world have their own section within the LMS where they can add their own courses; monitor and add instructors and so on. This enables Autodesk to use a mix of online and classroom-delivered learning processes, as well as user-generated video content on the ACI program.
Since Autodesk is a global company, its ACI program is offered in many countries, including China, Japan, Korea, Germany, French Canada and throughout Latin America. This means that it isn’t always convenient or appropriate to deliver the program through the medium of English - so its LMS must be able to cope with communicating via different languages.
According to Autodesk, the ability to localize Docebo platform’s user interface to accommodate a large number of languages gives it the flexibility to deliver the ACI program and collect learner data in different languages. Moreover the fact that every language can be further personalized via ‘What You See Is What You Get’ (WYSIWYG) independently - without specific support from Docebo - is a major advantage of the system.
Docebo’s LMS is currently used by over 650 organizations, many of which are large, global companies. They use the Docebo LMS to co-ordinate the learning of many thousands of learners belonging to different cultures and living in different time zones.
Being a Cloud-based SaaS, rather than either an open source or a legacy system, Docebo’s LMS allows for unlimited numbers of registered users although customers only pay for the active users during any billing period.
The other shortlisted nominees in this category of the E-Learning Awards are: Brightwave and UNISON; Enterprise Study and Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust; Growth Engineering; Jurys Inn; Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust and Kallidus; Sony Europe and City & Guilds Kineo, and Unicorn with Tesco Bank. The Awards are due to be presented at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London, on November 6.
