Cincinnati, OH, United States, 2014/07/28 - Ampac, the world’s leader in creative packaging solutions, introduces the turned top luxury bag capability and celebrates a third consecutive Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) recognition.
Ampac’s turned top luxury bag innovation is the first fully automatic turned top bag in North America. Previously made in Asia and Western Europe, the turned top luxury bag offers a bag with slits that look like a “T” to accommodate where the handle meets the turned top. The turned top fully covers the patch where the handle is located and provides a finished look to rival bags made by hand in Asia, and is an upgrade to standard serrated edge bags.
Ampac is the first company in North America to acquire a turned top luxury bag machine that can decrease production and transit times, and increase service to the customer. Ampac customers using the turned top luxury bag include Macy’s, who values the ability to create this bag in the U.S.
For the third year in a row, Ampac has won in the Flexographic Technical Association’s Flexography Awards program, winning a Bronze Award this year for the Stonewall Kitchen Bag in the Process Uncoated Classification, where over 500 submissions were evaluated.
According to the FTA,“The objective of the award is to recognize outstanding technical achievement in flexographic printing. Technical achievement is defined as exceptional printing that has an extremely high degree of difficulty or complexity. Also considered is the use of techniques, processes, controls, materials, tooling or equipment that is outside the norm and contributes to the advancement of the industry.”
Ampac’s Vice President of Sales Chad Murdock states,“Ampac is proud to become an FTA winner for the third year in a row, showing our expertise and print capabilities.”
