New Delhi, Delhi, India, 2014/07/02 - Bhopal based AISECT group, which is India’s leading e-governance services network has been conferred with the Skoch Order-of-Merit at the prestigious Skoch Financial Inclusion & Deepening Award 2014.
The awards, which were announced as part of the SKOCH Financial Inclusion Summit 2014 was held in the capital’s India Habitat Centre. AISECT’s Director, Mr. Siddharth Chaturvedi was presented the award by Mrs. Zohra Chatterjee, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles (Government of India).
AISECT is among the 70 companies chosen from more than 1000 entries for this highest merit-based award for Financial Inclusion. AISECT was selected by the jury on the basis of its impact created on the ground level. Also present at the investiture ceremony were Mr. M V Tanksale, the Chief Executive of Indian Banks' Association and Ms Aruna Sharma, the Additional Chief Secretary of Panchayat & Rural Development (Government of Madhya Pradesh).
Speaking on the achievement, Mr. Chaturvedi asserted,“I am honoured to receive this title. We at AISECT had realized this fact quite early that financial intermediation is essential for both extensive and intensive growth of any region. The status of banking in India especially in rural and semi urban areas has been seeing a relative low. However, for AISECT the revolution is on. It is a matter of time when all villages will have banking facilities with Kiosk banking or correspondence banking and each of them will be having the facility of interbank transfer. Our financial inclusion services coupled with Aadhar enabled services will bring in a massive change in the way services and banking works in rural India.”
Skoch Financial Inclusion & Deepening Award 2014 seeks to recognize best practices from the banking and financial service sectors for making significant contributions to the cause of financial inclusion, financial deepening, besides promoting inclusive growth and poverty alleviation from across urban and rural India.
Since 2009, AISECT (aisect.org) has been extending hassle-free banking services across the states of Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and the CSC states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Punjab, where the organization is a leading Service Centre Agency (SCA) for the Common Service Centre (CSC) Project. Till date, AISECT has successfully established nearly 1500 Kiosks in rural, semi urban and urban area and has opened more than 30 lakh bank accounts so far, which have done transactions worth Rs. 850 crore across these CSC states.
Presently, the organization is working as a Business Correspondent (BC) for 26 nationalized banks including the State Bank of India and Bank of India for which it is a National Business Correspondent. Apart from providing banking services, the organization is also offering loan and premium renewal collection services in these states.
