This month, Alstom, leader of the FrotaPoa consortium with CAF Brasil, delivered the first of the 15 metro trains ordered by Empresa de Trens Urbanos de Porto Alegre (Trensurb).
The train was produced at Lapa Unit, in São Paulo, and is part of the Alstom Metropolis category. Each car has four large automatic doors and wide corridors ensure greater fluidity and accessibility to passengers, especially those with reduced mobility. To increase the comfort of the driver and passengers, there is a high performance air conditioning system with automatic temperature control.
The maintenance of the trains will be facilitated by self-test systems and failure monitoring in real time, and the useful life should be of at least 30 years.
With this order, Trensurb’s fleet will have a 60% increase. The trains, intended for line 1 of the Porto Alegre metro, should be delivered for the World Cup in 2014.
