Larry Dunlap, managing partner of Haircolorxperts, has announced that the salon will provide services on Sunday, Feb. 18 to women of the Summit House, a therapeutic community that offers an alternative to incarceration for nonviolent female felons who are pregnant or have young children. Stylists will provide hair services ranging from haircuts to coloring, as well as complimentary hair care products to help these women improve their overall appearance and wellbeing.
“We are pleased to offer our services to the Summit House,” said Dunlap. “It is an organization that has done so much to keep families together, and we are honored to help these women do something positive for themselves.”

The Summit House is a therapeutic community that offers an alternative to incarceration for nonviolent female felons who are pregnant or have young children. The basic goal for women offenders and ultimately their children is to offer a lifestyle that includes drug abstinence, elimination of anti-social (criminal) behavior, development of employable skills, and the acquisition of positive attitudes, beliefs and behaviors which reflect honesty, respect, non-violence and self-reliance. In addition, Summit House strives to maximize healthy bonding between the mothers and children in the program. The program includes close supervision and a strong treatment approach with group and individual counseling. The women receive help for their addictions, learn household management responsibilities and become better parents.
