Greenville, SC, United States, 2014/04/03 - Site selection consultancy Global Location Strategies has added former international marketing advisor and economic development executive Catalina Valencia as a Consultant in the firm's Greenville, SC headquarters.
Former international marketing advisor and economic development executive Catalina Valencia has joined Global Location Strategies (GLS), the rapidly-growing South Carolina-based site selection and economic development firm, as a Consultant on its rapidly expanding team. She will work from GLS headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina.
A native of Cali, Colombia, Mrs. Valencia brings over 15 years of professional experience in international business and global marketing in various industries to the GLS team. Prior to joining GLS (globallocationstrategies.com), she served as Business Development Director for a Southeastern economic development organization. She also has held marketing and business development roles for the U.S. Soy Industry’s Global Aquaculture Program and for Vigo Remittance, a Western Union subsidiary, working with multiple countries in the world. Mrs. Valencia also has served as a project leader for the Colombian Government Trade Bureau both domestically and internationally, and as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program.
Extensively traveled, Mrs. Valencia holds a B.A. and Master’s degree in International Business from Colombia’s Universidad ICESI and EAFIT, respectively, as well as a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University in New York City.
As a Consultant, Ms. Valencia will focus on site selection project management, client relations and strategic analysis assignments for GLS’ portfolio of international site selection and incentive negotiation clients.
