Recognizing the growing need for quality, on demand peptide solutions, AnaSpec has introduced a series of research-ready plant peptides called phytochelatins. With one of the largest collections of catalog peptides on the planet, this introduction makes AnaSpec one of the world’s leading providers of catalog phytochelatin peptides.

Phytochelatins (PCs), a name coined by E. Grill et al. (1), belong to a class of heavy metal-detoxifying peptides. These glutathione derived peptides chelate heavy metals such as Cd, Zn, Cu and Pb and have a general formula of (gamma-Glu-Cys)n-Gly, where n = 2-11. Repeating units is dependent on the concentration and duration of metal exposure (2, 3).

AnaSpec currently offers Phytochelatins PC2 through PC6. AnaSpec also offers Biotinylated & HiLyte FluorTM 488-labeled (Abs/Em = 498/525 nm) PC2 to PC4.
