Containing videos, tutorials and the latest boat care news, the site is a one-stop information portal for anyone who maintains their own boat.
According to yacht coatings specialist Hempel, the average sailing enthusiast spends a considerable amount of time and money on vessel maintenance each year. Hempel’s new yacht website has been created to help ensure that this money and time is well spent.
Thomas Olsen, Marketing & Business Manager for Yacht at Hempel, comments: “Maintenance is an essential part of keeping a boat’s sailing properties and appearance not to mention value. But sometimes yacht owners end up wasting time and money by either choosing the wrong product for the job or applying the product incorrectly. The new website ensures they have the information they need to do a perfect job first time.”
The website includes a selection of how-to videos and tutorials, from choosing and applying a hull coating to cleaning and varnishing wood. It also contains comprehensive product information, a Paint Calculator to help you work out the amount of paint you need for each task, a list of stockists and the latest news on new products, boat shows and yacht care trends.
Hempel (hempel.com) has long experience as a supplier and advisor to boat yards and has used this experience when creating the site.
“The advice comes from professionals who know the tricks required to achieve a perfect result,” says Thomas Olsen.
The short videos the one on how to remove old paint is just over one minute, for example are also available on Hempel’s new Yacht YouTube channel and both sites will be updated with new videos on a regular basis.
“Our motto at Hempel is ‘Keep sailing’, because we want to help ensure yachting enthusiasts spend as much time out on the water as possible,” says Thomas Olsen, who is a keen sailor himself. “Our new website is just one aspect of how we can help.”
