Tampa, FL, United States, 2014/01/30 - Leading video communications provider AVI-SPL announced today that its patent-pending meeting environment privacy product Block ME has been honored with a 2014 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year Award from TMC, a global, integrated media company.
Introduced at InfoComm in 2013, Block ME addresses the concern of unauthorized video calls from launching in meeting rooms. Users simply press a button to stop video calls from being initiated or received. The control is in the hands of the users with no need for technical expertise because at a glance you’ll know if the device is engaged. Green means calls are unblocked; red means calls are blocked.
Block ME is one of the unique capabilities developed by AVI-SPL over the last few years designed to improve the overall video collaboration experience. It complements AVI-SPL’s suite of video solutions including the patented Symphony platform which provides monitoring, management and scheduling of virtually any IP reachable audio and video device.
“We’re honored to be recognized by TMC for Block ME,” said John Vitale, vice president of products, AVI-SPL. “The concern for meeting privacy is a frequent topic for video users. In order for people to continue embracing video without that worry, we developed Block ME. It simply does what it says: blocks video calls from coming in and going out of a room. If you’re having a confidential meeting and not using video, you can feel confident your discussions and content are protected.”
“It gives me great pleasure to recognize AVI-SPL with a 2014 Product of the Year Award for its commitment to excellence and innovation,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. “In the opinion of our distinguished judges, Block ME has proven to be among the best communications and technology solutions on the market in 2014. I look forward to continued innovation from AVI-SPL.
The winners of the 2014 INTERNET TELEPHONY Product of the Year are featured in the January/February 2014 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine and online.
