Baltimore, MD, United States, 2014/01/27 - The second annual Digital Media Workflow eSurvey sponsored by Chesapeake Systems of Baltimore MD will provide valuable granular insight into the changes today's media production teams are experiencing - Chesa.com.
The media industry is undergoing unprecedented change, and in order to better monitor that change, Chesapeake Systems is conducting its 2nd annual Digital Media Workflow eSurvey.
Targeted participants are those who work as end-users in the video production and/or post-production realms.
"The migration to tapeless workflows has been a major catalyst for the changes that are taking place in our industry," says Nick Gold, Director of Business Development at Chesapeake Systems, an IT-centric media systems integrator based out of Baltimore, Maryland. "From acquisition of image and sound, to editing, storage, and then on through distribution, it's all digital today."
The result? Around the world, incredible amounts of data are generated every day from video production and post-production activities.
This exponential growth of digital data has also been influenced by the transition to HD and Ultra-HD video formats. Furthermore, with the cost of cameras and acquisition media going down, production teams now feel free to shoot more raw footage than ever before.
Managing and securing this data today is a primary "pain point" for many producers within the media industry, and this is where Chesapeake Systems fits in. Their combined expertise in IT and media allows them to work with both small and large media producing entities to design and install solutions that address challenges in non-linear editing, media asset management, digital storage and archive, and program distribution.
But how does one stay abreast of all the fast-paced changes taking place in today's media realm?
"It's one thing to talk 'from the top down' about where the media industry is headed. Yet, we wanted to be sure we stayed grounded as to what's on the minds of our network of contacts and clients. That's why we developed the Digital Media Workflow eSurvey," says Gold.
All media professional end-users are encouraged to participate in the eSurvey. It takes just 9-minutes to complete, and a summary of results will be shared with respondents. They will also be eligible to win an iPad mini with Retina display. The drawing for that will be on January 31, 2014.
