Barracuda Networks, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-connected security and storage solutions, today announced it has been named a leader in the IDC Marketscape: Worldwide Messaging Security Appliance/Software 2013-2014 Vendor Assessment (IDC #244306). In this report, Barracuda was cited as having a strong portfolio and delivery model for its Barracuda Spam Firewall (appliance and virtual appliance) to address messaging security requirements for customers.
IDC recognized Barracuda for having,“strong competency in running an efficient and cost-effective security hardware appliance business.” Additionally the report noted a key strength in Barracuda’s email security solutions is the integration with its archiving/backup solutions in the cloud and on-premise, which IDC indicated is a key feature.
“Our email security product line has grown to meet customer demands over Barracuda’s 10 years by adding many new features and deployment options, and today offers a line of solutions that can fit into many email environments,” said Stephen Pao, GM Security, Barracuda. “Our position as a leader in the IDC report indicates our success in bringing customers simple but powerful solutions, which is underpinned by our R&D investments and commitment to customer service.”
IDC again named Barracuda the content security appliance volume leader as reported in its Worldwide Quarterly Security Appliance Tracker, Q3, December 2013. According to the report, Barracuda leads the market in content security appliance units with a 10.3 percent market share.
Barracuda offers award-winning comprehensive content security functionality in both appliance and virtual appliance deployment options, including:
• Barracuda Spam Firewall includes best-of-breed spam and virus blocking, data protection, DoS prevention, email continuity, encryption and policy management;
