Newly launched DawsonTimes.com, an online local newspaper serving Dawson County, GA, comes boldly out of the gate with support from its parent company, Hometown Times, Inc., based in Cumming, GA, along with the Dawsonville community and eleven sister sites across the metro-Atlanta area and neighboring states. Forsyth County-based HometownTimes, Inc. debuted in July 2003, with the launch of CummingHome.com, the brainchild of Cumming resident, Steve Carter. Jim Harrell, HometownTimes’ general manager, joined Carter shortly thereafter. After just three years, the company continues to expand exponentially. Currently, 12 online newspapers are in operation, 10 of which serve north Atlanta and surrounding areas.
