Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, announces the new Model 9445 five-channel DB9 A/B switch. The Model 9445 is configured in a slim rack-mount design that utilizes computer room rack space efficiently. The dimensions are 19.0” W x 1.75” H x 8.0” D (48.3 x 4.4 x 20.3 cm). This switch weighs approximately 3.0 lbs (1.36 kg).

The Model 9445 allows the IT Manager to access, for each channel, two DB9 interface devices connected to its A and B ports with one DB9 device connected to its COMMON port. The five channels are switched independently via the five rotary knobs located on the front panel.

The Model 9445 is built to last. The internal components include a high-quality sealed switch with self-wiping low impedance contacts. The unit is enclosed in an attractive anodized black box packaging that provides EMI/RFI shielding. The company is so sure of the quality of the design and construction of this switch that it offers a lifetime guarantee against manufacturing defects.

The Model 9445 is ideal for RS232, RS422, RS485 or any application that has a DB9 connector interface. The switch is transparent to data speed and format. All 9 pins of the DB9 interface are switched. The port connectors include (3) DB9 female connectors labeled A, B and COMMON for each of the 5 channels. Custom length DB9 cables are available from Electro Standards for the switch installation. Also available is custom screening of the front and rear panels.

The product page includes a colorful detailed application diagram as well as a link to the Model 9445 specification sheet. To speak to a knowledgeable sales engineer to discuss product or applications, call or visit the website.
