Bangkok, Thailand, 02/05/2007 - Veteran photo-journalist Jonathan Taylor's Photography School Asia is to run its first Workshop this coming March.
The photography study is to be totally unique in style, editorially based assignments are to be given each day with tight deadlines attached.
Using Taylor's daily newspaper editor's experience and fluent understanding of the Thai language and region this workshop is truly something of a unique opportunity to budding photojournalist.
The 7 day editorial assignment workshop is an intensive workshop aimed at giving participants the skills to work under pressure in an editorial and feature environment. Participants will be given a set of features and news stories to complete under tight deadlines. Participants will need to research, photograph then edit each assignment and get them finished before each daily deadline. Exactly as they would working for any daily publication but under guidance and tutorship. Practical study will be available to help you improve and complete your work too.
As well as Jonathan there will be other guest tutors, each bringing their own experience to the workshop. At the end of each assignment there will be group assessment and analysis. Industrial standard post production techniques will also be taught. Participants can use either digital or film photography. The pictures from this workshop will be made into a PDF publication that can viewed online and well as printed as a portfolio.
