AEgis was announced last week as the winner of this Full and Open competition by the Marine Corps System Command (MARSYSCOM) Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) based in Orlando, Florida.

“We are proud to be selected to build these important training simulators for the Marines,” said Del Beilstein, Vice President of Business Development, Technology Solutions. “AEgis has worked extensively in providing training and simulation solutions for both the US Army and US Air Force, and we are excited for the opportunity to deliver these IMTS devices for the United States Marine Corps.”

AEgis will provide the Marine Corps with state-of-the-art, fully immersive IMTS training systems at both Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point that are sustainable and fully capable of supporting individual Stinger Missile team training exercises. AEgis has proven performance for delivering innovative, non-proprietary, training simulation solutions for customers, including the IMTS Upgrade for the US Army’s 2nd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery at Fort Sill, OK, and the MH-47E and MH-60K Combat Mission Simulator (CMS) Legacy Upgrade Effort (LUE) for the Program Manager for SOF Training Systems, US Army PEO STRI, based in Orlando, Florida.

The IMTS training system consists of 40-foot diameter hemispherical dome screen panels with multiple computer-generated images (including geometry correction and edge blending) that are projected seamlessly within the 360-degree IMTS dome, allowing up to three, two-person Stinger Missile teams to simultaneously train missile engagements against threat aircraft. The teams use real (inert) Stinger Missile tubes to conduct their engagements, and their training performance is tracked and scored from a robust Instructor Operator System (IOS). The IMTS is designed to be completely immersive for trainees with high-fidelity sound and graphics, along with simulated weather, clouds, and background environments.
