Openet, a global leader of real-time transaction management software and services, today announced their selection for Tech Tour’s 2013 European Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The award recognizes the European technology company with the biggest impact, on the largest number of people, in the least amount of time. CEO Niall Norton and CTO and Founder Joe Hogan collected the award on behalf of Openet in a ceremony held in Berlin, Germany on September 24.
With more than 950 employees and more than 80 customers across 30 countries, Openet enables the world’s largest network operators to deliver innovative, valuable and engaging services. Openet’s industry leading technology, coupled with its highly motivated and committed team, are what led Tech Tour to choose Openet for this award.
“While Openet offers a best-in-breed platform enabling services that are personalized, flexible and dynamic, we must largely attribute the company’s continued success to the fundamentals that we relentlessly promote innovation, flexibility and service to our customers,” said Openet CEO Niall Norton. “This award is a testimony to the hard work and exceptional strength of the Openet team.”
Tech Tour’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award is judged by a committee of highly regarded senior professionals from relevant backgrounds and industry expertise. This year, the Awards ceremony was preceded by the Tech Growth Summit, which welcomed 25 CEOs from European companies that have changed and are changing the world.
“I am delighted and honored that Niall and I should accept the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year Award on behalf of the Openet team,” said Mr. Hogan. “It's rewarding for our peers in the European business community to recognize the creativity and hard work Openet have put into building real-time decision systems for the world's largest communications service providers. Our products enable operators to fully realize the commercial potential of their networks as they diversify consumer offerings, enable the emerging ’Internet of Things, ’ and explore new business models.”
Lisa Vaughan, Enterprise Ireland’s Head of HPSU and Scaling, congratulated the company on their success. “This is a richly deserved award for one of Ireland’s leading software companies. Openet (openet.com) is an ambitious and impressive company with a proven track record internationally for leading edge technology. Enterprise Ireland is delighted to support the company and to continue to work closely with them as they grow their international business.”
