Perspectix, a leading provider of software solutions for sales and project engineering, joins the JT™ Open Program to support the 3D JT™ data format from UGS Corp., a leading global provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software and services, within the Perspectix P'X5 software suite.

By using JT, the PLM industry's most widely used lightweight 3D visualization and collaboration data format, Perspectix P'X5 provides PLM-integrated 3D sales tools to foster the tendering process for build-to-order products. Within P'X5, modular custom-specific configurations of product components, machines, and plants are reusing 3D CAD data via the JT format. The JT objects are enhanced with intelligence to provide knowledge-driven automation in the sales engineering process. Rule-based generation and validation of variants, module assemblies, BOM structures, and documents are coupled with technical and commercial calculations to automate repetitive and error-prone planning work in acquisition processes.
Within its flexible and powerful configuration engine, P'X5 integrates top-down configuration of 150% BOM as well as bottom-up configuration of modular building systems and is therefore outstanding suitable for knowledge-based engineering of modular product systems covering components, machines, and plants. P'X5 keeps module, layout and project configurations consistent by a global validation of mechanics, cabling, piping, software, and services.
