Singapore, Singapore, 2007/01/30 - Kids-Tee-Off is excited to announce the inaugural KTO Junior Challenge Golf Tournament, to be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the prestigious Blue Canyon Golf & Country Club in Phuket, Thailand.
This international tournament is open to boys and girls 6 to15 years of age, holding a current handicap card from a recognized club.
“We want to set a high standard for this event, so we are extremely thrilled to have Blue Canyon Golf & Country Club, and the Tourism Authority of Thailand as our Official Partners and Asian Golf Monthly as our Official Media Partner”, stated Pamela Wigglesworth, Managing Director of Kids-Tee-Off. “Together, I think we make a great foursome.”
Blue Canyon, set on the tropical island of Phuket, is one of the finest championship golf courses in Asia-Pacific. It boasts awards such as "Best Course in Thailand 2003" by US Golf Digest, "Asia's Best Championship Course 2002 & 2003" by Asian Golf Monthly, "Best Course in Asia 2003" by Finance Asia, and Asia's Best Golf & Spa Destination 2005" by Spa Asia. It will play host to the Johnnie Walker Classic Tournament March 1-4, having hosted in 1994 and 1998.
Asian Golf Monthly makes a great partner for Kids-Tee-Off because the two companies target the same demographics. While the end user of KTO products is a child, the discerning parent is the ‘gate-keeper’ to the brand. The publication is able to reach the parents of junior players where they live, as this is the only golf magazine with a pan-Asian distribution in 13 countries. More importantly, Asian Golf Monthly is more than just a golf magazine, it’s about a lifestyle.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand lends its support with local business contacts and assistance in getting the word out about the tournament through their regional offices; not to mention their overall enthusiasm about the project.
Participants and family members will be able to take part in a variety of activities leading up to the tournament. To start with, there will be a junior golf clinic which will allow kids to have a full digital analysis done of their swing with one of the Blue Canyon instructors and practice in the digital practice bay. Special reduced green fees for juniors and adults will allow kids to have a practice run, and parents to play on either of the fabulous courses. Thai cooking classes and a half day Phuket city tour are also available.
Families need not worry about traveling to the tournament when they can simply stay at the Blue Canyon Golfer’s Spa Lodge which offers single or double occupancy rooms with garden or golf course views. Larger families can book a 3 or 4 bedroom family suite at the Luxury Apartments, all at special room rates when you confirm your reservation thru Kids-Tee-Off.
“While the Kids-Tee-Off core business is apparel and accessories, we see ourselves as promoting junior golf and catering to the leisure lifestyle needs of the family”, explains Ms. Wigglesworth. “It is our intention to make the KTO Junior Challenge, a leading international junior tournament; one that parents, participants and sponsors alike will be talking about favorably long after the actual event.”
Online registration will open on the Kids-Tee-Off website on February 15, 2007. Parents eager to sign up or companies seeking more information about the KTO Junior Challenge Golf Tournament please email ktochallenge[.]kids-tee-off.com
