India with the world’s second largest population base is facing deficit of fresh water where country’s per capita fresh water availability is only 1,184 cubic meters which is almost half of China. The increasing industrialization and rising population is creating adverse effects on the environment which is degrading the quality of drinking water. One of the best ways to combat this problem is to install water purifiers. Even though the water purifiers market in India is the second largest in Asia, it is still at nascent stage with a low penetration level in most of regions.

According to a recently published report by TechSci Research “India Water Purifier Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2018”, the water purifiers market in India is expected to grow at the CAGR of 24% during 2013-2018. Approximately 70% of the country’s water purifier market is dominated by the organized players such as Eureka Forbes, Kent, HUL, Tata Chemicals etc. The level of water contamination is considerably high in states such as Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, and Orissa which is in turn increasing the demand for water purifiers.

The Indian market for water purifiers is witnessing noteworthy changes as a result of introduction of new technologies such as ultra-filtration, micro filtration, combination systems etc. The water purifier market is also set for monolithic competition among all domestic and international players operating in the Indian market. Introduction of new technologies, presence of low cost water purifiers, and presence of Chinese manufacturers is heightening the level of market competition.

“The market for water purifiers in India is set to grow as a result of increasing focus towards after sale services which are also turning out to be beneficial for the industry players. The market for offline gravity filters has immense potential in rural Indian market place where villages are not electrically connected”, said Mr. Karan Chechi, Research Director with TechSci Research a research based global management consulting firm.

“India Water Purifier Market Forecast & Opportunities, 2018” has evaluated the future growth potential of India’s water purifiers market and provides statistics and information on market structure, consumer behavior trends. The report includes water purifier’s projections and demand forecasting. The report is intended to provide cutting-edge market intelligence and help decision makers to take sound investment evaluation. Besides, the report also identifies and analyzes the emerging trends along with essential drivers, challenges and opportunities available in water purifiers market in India.
