Astellia, a leading provider of mobile network and customer experience monitoring solutions, announces it has joined global industry body TM Forum, and as a new TM Forum member is participating in one of TM Forum’s Catalyst projects focused on Customer Experience Management (CEM).

TM Forum’s Catalyst rapid technology innovation projects are short-term collaborative projects that strive to create solutions for critical industry operational and systems challenges that are defined by end users such as service providers, MSOs, defense agencies, enterprise IT departments and more. Astellia is taking an active role in the CEM Catalyst, ‘Quantifying Customer Experience through Performance and Probe Measurement,” which demonstrates how vital quality of experience metrics for mobile broadband services can be enhanced by leveraging and combining network probe and performance data.

In this Catalyst, Astellia (astellia.com) will feed HP’s Customer Experience Assurance solution with unique high value data (Content & User Plane data) provided by Astellia’s high capacity (14Gbps) IP probes. These network probe data, enriched through deep packet inspection (DPI) embedded in Astellia’s intelligent probes, will be combined with performance data coming from MYCOM to deliver quantifiable QoE metrics for mobile broadband services. Live demonstrations of this Catalyst are taking place in The Hub at TM Forum’s Management World 2013, 13 - 16 May, Nice, France.

“By joining this global community we greatly value engaging with other technology experts and benefiting from enhanced networking opportunities. Astellia intends to contribute in the development of standards that is being initiated by TM Forum and share our thought leadership in mobile (2G/3G/4G….) network and customer experience.” says Emmanuel Audousset, Vice President Business Development at Astellia.

“We are pleased to welcome Astellia to the TM Forum,” said Nik Willetts, chief strategy officer, TM Forum. “Whether it’s introducing new services, transforming business operations or collaborating with other members through our unique Catalyst project programs, the Forum provides a neutral and open environment for the entire value-chain to collaborate on pressing industry issues. We look forward to helping Astellia gain the flexibility and speed they need to underpin future growth and reach their strategic goals.”
