- Digital connection to modalities, departmental systems and hospital information systems enables IMPAX 6.5 PACS and integrated IMPAX Cardiology PACS to provide an integrated view of patient data;
- XERO Viewer allows secure direct access to imaging information from any authorized location on a variety of web-enabled devices;
- No additional client software or plug-ins are required.
Agfa HealthCare announced that Hunt Regional Healthcare, Greenville, Texas, has upgraded its Agfa HealthCare PACS to IMPAX 6.5 and installed Agfa HealthCare's Cardiology PACS and XERO Viewer to deliver a consolidated view and centralized management of patient, image and information data. With the addition of Agfa HealthCare's XERO Viewer, physicians are able to quickly and securely access the nearly 100,000 imaging exams and reports done each year, on virtually any Hunt Regional facility device - whether the exam was done at Hunt Regional Open Imaging of Greenville or Rockwall, Hunt Regional Medical Center, Hunt Regional Community Hospital or Hunt Regional Medical Plaza. Because the information is web-based, physicians can access the results in real time.
XERO Viewer converts images and content for display in the browser without requiring any client software installation. Using standards-based interfaces and powerful image processing, XERO Viewer will allow clinicians to retrieve, view and manipulate images while providing access to imaging information, including CT (Computed Tomography), X-ray, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), US (Ultrasonography), NM (Nuclear Medicine), RF (Radiographic Fluoroscopy), Mammo, and cardiology exam ECHO (Echocardiography), ECG (Electrocardiography) and Cath Lab. XERO Viewer is part of the ICIS (Imaging Clinical Information System) solution suite that empowers enterprise-wide imaging management and accessibility.
Secured fast access to real time images
"Installing the IMPAX upgrade has made a huge difference in patient care as well as productivity," said John Ervin, Imaging Director Hunt Regional Healthcare. "Our physicians simply go to a single URL using a secure link to access images. Not only is it easier for the physicians to get access to the information, but we're able to get images to them a lot quicker."
By allowing physicians to access patient images on mobile devices, such as Apple iPad® mobile digital devices, Hunt Regional Healthcare has improved the service it provides to the physicians.
"Doctors have more time to interact with patients because they are able to obtain images in real time," said Bob Craske, Senior Marketing Manager, Agfa HealthCare U.S. "Because the results are available much faster, physicians can have both the image and diagnostic report by the time the patient returns from having the exam, allowing for informed patient care."
