Wilmington, DE, United States, 2013/04/17 - Going beyond SCORM, Epignosis’ eFront LMS adopts latest learning industry standard - eFrontLearning.net.
Epignosis Ltd, a global provider of Enterprise and Open Source learning management systems, including the multiple award-winning eFront LMS, today announced the integration of the Tin Can API with its core product.
As a leading provider of world-class learning technology solutions, Epignosis has always adhered to the latest industry standards in creating and delivering eLearning solutions. Integrating Tin Can API into its solutions was a natural next step in evolving the product’s architecture and moving learning forward.
The Tin Can API is a new learning standard - a standard that allows for the tracking and recording of learning experiences anywhere, from any device and which overcomes the shortcomings of previous standards. Previous specifications had limitations whereas the Tin Can API is simple and flexible, and lifts many of the older restrictions - mobile learning, simulations, virtual worlds, serious games, real-world activities, experiential learning, social learning, offline learning, and collaborative learning are just some of the things that can now be recognized and communicated well with the Tin Can API.
Athanasios Papagelis, Epignosis’ CTO, commented “To move learning forward, technology has to evolve. Tin Can is a crucial step towards the right direction, enabling tracking and reporting of learning activities on any device or learning scenario. As a company we are steadily focused on integrating the most recent eLearning standards and web technologies.”
The new version eFront 3.6.13 also comes with several UI improvements, a WordPress integration plugin, a new introductory course, and a number of other additional enhancements.
Epignosis Ltd (efrontlearning.net), vendor of eFront and TalentLMS, was founded in November 2003 as part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, StartTech Ventures. Epignosis is headquartered in the United States, with a global network of VAR partners in more than 60 countries.
