Daedalus, a Spanish company specializing in software for information analysis, has released the first version of Sentimentalytics, a browser plug-in that automatically analyzes social media content. Sentimentalytics applies semantic and natural language processing technologies to extract meaning and tag the timelines shown in most common social media and tools. It installs on any standard browser and operates fully integrated into the web interfaces of a variety of social networks and tools. By simply clicking on the Sentimentalytics button, these pages, timelines, query results, etc. appear dynamically annotated with tags indicating the mentioned entities, the language and the topic of the document as well as the sentiment, both general and associated with each entity.
Sentimentalytics also features a dashboard that allows to directly navigate to those specific comments mentioning a given entity, dealing with a particular topic or containing opinions of a certain polarity or intensity. Additionally, the tagged content can be exported to a CSV file for treatment with reporting or data analysis tools. To achieve this, the plug-in uses Daedalus’ semantic technology -deployed in the cloud and accessible via APIs-, capable of analyzing content in its context and to identify ambiguous mentions.
Ultimately, Sentimentalytics creates "on the fly" a semantic layer on top of the interfaces of commonly used social networks and tools. As a consequence, users can work more efficiently without having to learn or integrate any additional tools.
Sentimentalytics prevents community managers and agencies from reading thousands of irrelevant comments, identifying those that require personal attention because of the featured mentions, topics or sentiment, thus enabling a "management by exception" and in real-time of social media.
"Do you want to identify at a glance what is said in social media? Without exiting your browser, Sentimentalytics extracts elements of meaning from social conversations and allows to identify and navigate directly to the most relevant ones. Sentimentalytics enables community managers, agencies and users concerned about their personal brand to be more efficient in their media monitoring and analysis work" explained José Carlos González, managing director of Daedalus. "Daedalus is presently developing semantic technologies to assess the impact of social media on corporate reputation and to detect buying signals in social conversations, and all that functionality will enhance Sentimentalytics in future releases."
So far, Sentimentalytics has been in private beta with a set of community managers and advanced users who have contributed to the development of the tool.
Sentimentalytics analyzes content in Spanish, English and French and its standard version is completely free.
