SCHOTT North America will exhibit its 270-degree SCHOTT ROBAX® glass-ceramic viewing panel at the Hearth, Patio, and Barbecue Association (HPBA) Expo in Orlando, Fla. on March 14 to 16, 2013 at booth #2523. This viewing panel will be accompanied by several other shapes intended for fireplaces and stoves with inventive designs, including S-shaped wavy glass-ceramic and large-radius bent panels.
“Homeowners are increasingly seeking new design possibilities for their fireplaces and woodstoves, and curved glass is meeting that desire, creating new options with both an aesthetic and a practical value,” said Karen Elder, Marketing Manager at SCHOTT North America, Inc. “We’re crafting larger, shaped glass-ceramic panels that expand the limits of how far we can curve a piece of glass-ceramic and how big the glass-ceramic can be. With these new shapes, like the 270 degree curved glass-ceramic, we’re able to offer wider viewing angles of the fire from multiple locations in a room as well as push the boundaries of home heating system design.”
ROBAX® is an extremely heat-resistant, transparent glass ceramic which can be produced in a variety of shapes and sizes to meet your specific needs. The 270-degree innovative panel from SCHOTT’s luxury segment is available with a radius of 300 mm and a height of 600 mm (as well as other dimensions upon request).
SCHOTT ROBAX® (schott.com) has been recognized as a high-quality brand for more than 30 years. More than 60 million panels of this robust glass-ceramic have already been sold. In most cases, it is used as a fireplace viewing panel, due to its transparency, high temperature resistance, and breaking strength. Tinted color versions of ROBAX® are also available for use in indoor and outdoor claddings of fireplaces and stoves.
