Vernier Networks®, developer of the industry’s only clientless network access management products, recently announced that it has been named best endpoint network security solution by Network World magazine. The integrated Vernier and PatchLink network security solution received the Clear Choice award from the publication's test and evaluation laboratory. Published in the June 27, 2005 issue, Network World reviewed seven products that were required to identify compliance of out-of-policy systems and take actions for threat remediation.
According to Network World, the Vernier Networks’ EdgeWall 7000i and PatchLink Update Server combination came out on top because of its sound performance in all categories. With an overall score of 4.33, the joint submission “excelled in remediation, providing the ability to block network access and automatically fix out-of-compliance systems, and it was among the most resilient of the packages tested.”
Vernier Networks offers the industry’s only clientless network access management products that enable enterprises to assure business continuity. Deployed at the network edge, Vernier’s EdgeWall network security appliance provides comprehensive threat remediation and network access management to defend against intrusions and attacks on the network by screening users and devices, restricting access, inspecting traffic for worms and viruses, and enforcing access policy. Unlike desktop-based solutions that rely on end-user integrity, Vernier offers an integrated network-based endpoint security solution that keeps security and access control in the hands of the IT department and does not require expensive and hard to manage desktop software.
"This recognition from Network World reflects Vernier’s value to our customers of defending against intrusions and attacks on the network," said Simon Khalaf, chief executive officer of Vernier Networks. "This win along with strong customer traction in recent months demonstrates that Vernier is an emerging leader in the network access management space."
The Vernier/PatchLink solution beat out similar endpoint security products from Check Point, Cisco, Citadel, InfoExpress, Senforce and Trend Micro. The Clear Choice test is highlighted in the Network World print issue and online.
