Agfa HealthCare announces today the installation of its IMPAX Cardiovascular Global Remote Incident Prevention (GRIP) Monitoring at Stormont-Vail HealthCare, making the Topeka, Kansas-based hospital the first North American facility to utilize Agfa HealthCare's new monitoring system. Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Agfa HealthCare will use GRIP to proactively monitor performance of IMPAX Cardiovascular and help support maximum uptime.
Agfa HealthCare (agfa.com) implemented GRIP to monitor the hospital's 13-plus Cardiovascular imaging servers. The Adult Echo Reporting is currently managed at the hospital's corporate data center.
"Using GRIP services from Agfa HealthCare gives us the added confidence of knowing that there is a 24x7 watch, supporting uptime and optimal system performance," said Vera Kepner, manager of Ultrasound and Cardiology PACS administrator, Stormont-Vail HealthCare. "This is essential to providing optimal service and care to our patients while helping to maximize the profitability of our operations."
Enabling uptime, maximizing performance and minimizing cost
GRIP continually manages and monitors Agfa HealthCare's hardware, applications, operating systems and databases throughout the hospital enterprise, identifying trends that point to potential future conflicts, and proactively notifying stakeholders of the situation.
"One of the advantages to the hospital in installing this system is that there's no hardware involved," said Charles Wickens, Global General Manager, Cardiovascular IT, Agfa HealthCare. "We've installed the GRIP monitoring system as a small footprint software on existing servers. That means a lower cost."
Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX Cardiovascular GRIP Services consist of a real-time, centralized global monitoring center and technical team observing all connected customer sites for disruptive incidents. GRIP Services provide upfront awareness of potential disruptions to customers' Agfa HealthCare products. Because they are being monitored by the system 24/7, this helps facilitate quick intervention before outages or incidents occur thereby minimizing disturbances to customers' productivity.
