David Wimble was the man behind the Indie Bible. After recording his band's first album, the band unfortunately broke up. The "Indie Contact Bible" was officially released in October 1999 and included all genres of music. It was a very low budget book that was photocopied and had a plain white cover. Even though the book was simple it served its purpose and therefore, its value was recognized by those who bought and loved it.

The Indie Bible has won the "Creative Vision Award" from the Creative Line Magazine and the “Best Independent Music Publication" from the IMMIE (Independent Music) Award. In 2007, it has pledged to give 5% of its income to charities.
