Newton Abbot, Devon, United Kingdom, 2013/02/26 - Dainton St Austell Bay Business Park has welcomed eight commercial tenants since it completed construction of new industrial units in 2012, giving the Cornish economy a welcome boost during difficult times - Dainton.com.
Dainton Self Storage has almost filled its St Austell Bay Business Park, despite the economic gloom, and has just four industrial units left since they were first completed in 2012.
The established business park was transformed when Dainton invested one million pounds in the construction of new, affordable commercial premises. Dainton worked closely with Cornwall Council to ensure the needs of local small businesses were met by the new units and just over one year later, the success of this project has led to eight businesses moving into the five acre park.
According to a report published by Cornwall Council in November, Cornwall has the second weakest economy in the country. With 88.7% of VAT or PAYE registered businesses in Cornwall employing less than ten people, the importance of micro-businesses to the Cornish economy is clear.
Dainton Self Storage was keen to ensure the St Austell Bay Business Park development met the needs of these businesses and Dainton's Operations Director, Shaun Duncan, said "We were conscious at the time of the economic climate in Cornwall so we canvassed local businesses to ascertain what level of rent would be affordable. We then worked back from there to calculate our budget for the build. The result was high quality, affordable units."
Tenants at St Austell Bay Business Park range from solar panel installers to equipment manufacturers and include St Austell Bay Plastics, Partech Instruments and JW Lewis & Sons Roofing.
JW Lewis & Sons Roofing relocated to St Austell Bay Business Park because of the convenient location, competitive rates and quality of the units. Tony Lewis, Managing Director of the roofing contractors, said “Being relatively new, the units are of a good quality, much better than the other sites we considered moving to. The low rates make it affordable and the discount we were offered at the start of the tenancy really helped with the move.”
The industrial units range from 1,250 sq ft to 2,000 sq ft and all include electric roller shutter doors for easy access, CCTV security and fire alarms, electricity, hot and cold water, personnel doors, toilets and free parking.
The units are perfect for anyone starting their own business, expanding or needing more suitable business premises. Short or long-term leases are available, with further incentives for prospective tenants in the form of rent free periods or reduced rentals dependant upon the length of lease taken.
