Starting this week, the World’s No. 1 Online Casino and Poker Room, 888.com, and the web’s most comprehensive online poker authority, PokerNews.com, are kicking off PokerProForAYear (pokerproforayear.com) - a year of tournaments that will end with one person living out every poker player’s dream – an all-inclusive sponsorship to four of the poker world’s largest tournaments in 2008.
With PokerProForAYear, 888.com’s Pacific Poker (pacificpoker.com) has created a year-long tournament extravaganza exclusively for players from PokerNews.com. Through six two-month leagues, ten lucky players will win their way to the ultra-elite PokerProForAYear Final. These players will be chartered VIP-style, all-expenses paid, to a secret location to compete for the sponsorship and the first-ever title of PokerProForAYear.
During each of the six leagues, players will have the opportunity to enter weekly low buy-in events, a $500 freeroll, and an extraordinary Global Freeroll that will send the winner – all-expenses paid – to one of the poker world’s most celebrated tournaments such as the WSOP Main Event, the WPT Grand Prix de Paris, the EPT Baden or the Aussie Millions.

At end of each two-month league the 10 players with the most points will go head-to-head for a seat in the PokerProForAYear Final. These six league winners will also be joined by the player with the most points at the end of the year, and the 100 highest point accumulators throughout the year will face off in a freeroll to determine who will be filling the three remaining seats.
The Grand Prize winner of PokerProForAYear will be walking away with the year-long sponsorship, the runner up will also be sponsored in one global offline event in 2008, and the third place winner will receive free entries into online qualifiers for global offline events.
A weekly updated leader board can be found on the PokerProForAYear Official Website for players to view their status. The site will also feature a schedule of events, articles, interviews with the winners and more.
PokerProForAYear is available to Poker News – Pacific Poker players. To qualify, a player must register for Pacific Poker through the Poker News website or have already registered to Pacific Poker through Poker News.
