About the Swedish Veterans Federation and the Peace & Security Summit 2013
The Swedish Veterans Federation, SVF, is the organisation that is Swedenís representative in the World Veterans Federation, WVF. That organisation represents around 42 million veterans throughout the entire world. SVF has been requested by WVF to arrange the ďPeace and Security Summit 2013Ē in May 2013. The conference is being arranged together with the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish National Police Board and the Folke Bernadotte Academy, among others.
SVF exists for all Swedish veterans. A veteran is a person who has participated internationally in peacekeeping or humanitarian actions. It could be a fireman who has provided assistance after an earthquake on assignment of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency, a police officer who has worked overseas on behalf of the Swedish Police, or a soldier who has undertaken UN service. The common element is that they have all performed a service when the international community has called for actions to maintain peace in the world.
H.R.H. Prince Carl Philip is Patron of the Swedish Veterans Federation.
