GE Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare information technology, today announced that Children’s Mercy Hospitals & Clinics has selected Centricity Business as its enterprise-wide revenue cycle management solution. The organization selected Centricity Business because of its proven ability to help accelerate revenue cycle efficiencies, improve staff productivity, and manage emerging reimbursement models under payment reform. Children’s Mercy joins a growing number of healthcare organizations using GE Healthcare’s clinical and financial solutions to help improve revenue cycle performance and enhance patient care.

“We really needed an integrated facility and physician revenue cycle management system and the level of flexibility that, of those we looked at, only GE Healthcare provided,” said Jean Ann Breedlove, Chief Information Officer at Children’s Mercy, also referencing the ability to support multiple reimbursement models as a significant draw. “GE was able to offer a complete solution that included not just the software, but the value-added services that will help our organization implement streamlined workflows and prepare us for any regulatory changes. We’re looking forward to working with GE’s hands-on dedicated support team on our new hosted solution.”

Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics, located in Kansas City, Mo., is one of the nation’s top pediatric medical centers. The 319-bed hospital provides care for children from birth through the age of 18, has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's Best Children's Hospitals, and recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center with Magnet designation for excellence in nursing services. Its faculty of 600 pediatricians and researchers across more than 40 subspecialties is actively involved in clinical care, pediatric research, and educating the next generation of pediatric subspecialists.

“We’re pleased that Children’s Mercy has selected Centricity Business to drive efficiencies in enterprise-wide patient access and improvements to its core revenue cycle,” said Jim Corrigan, senior vice president and general manager of GE Healthcare IT. “By selecting Centricity Business, Children’s Mercy is modernizing its hospital revenue cycle and taking steps that will help improve its revenue cycle efficiencies, and prepare for the complexities of payment reform. We look forward to working alongside Children’s Mercy and pledge our full service and support.

Centricity Business is a proven, next-generation revenue cycle management solution that supports traditional and accountable reimbursement models for greater profitability, and efficiency. It is currently used by hundreds of leading healthcare organizations across the United States including 82% of those in the July 16, 2012 US News & World Report “2012-13 Best Hospitals Honor Roll.”
