The law can be a fulfilling and rewarding professional choice. Lawyers do make a difference for their clients and in society. On December 7, 2012 from 12 to 3 pm., Jefferey Katz of The Patterson Law Firm, LLC will moderate the State of Profession event for the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of The Chicago Bar Association. The event will consist of a dialogue with audience members on the state of the profession and how lawyers are facing these tough economic times. It will take place at Chicago Bar Association Headquarters, 321 S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago, Illinois.
“I can’t stress enough the importance for those seeking a legal profession to consider attending a committee meeting, seminar, social event or to volunteer on a public service project in order to enhance career options,” Katz said. “Given the very esteemed panel we have put together for this event including: Administrator of the IARDC Jerome Larkin, Executive Director of the Illinois
Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism Jayne Reardon, Judge Daniel Pierce and others, this is a very good opportunity for lawyers of all experience levels to participate in a dialogue regarding the state of our profession, including the ethical issues we face every day as attorneys.”
The YLS offers great opportunities for professional growth, community service, and networking to its more than 9,000 members. This year, the YLS will offer approximately 25 substantive committees, implement more than 50 member and public service projects, and host numerous seminars and networking events.
