Tanmia, the National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority, has recently announced a campaign designed to inform UAE students about opportunities in the local employment market. The move sees Tanmia establishing information bureaus at schools, universities and colleges throughout the country to provide general statistics and information about the changing requirements of the employment sector to students.
By providing these bureaus, Tanmia aims to inform the different student sectors about the local job market requirements, different professional directions available and highlight potential opportunities to help students define their future career choices. The bureaus are located at the Institute of Applied Technology, Emirates University, Al Ain Women’s Technical College, Al Fujairah Men’s Technical College, Ajman Secondary School, Al Ameer Secondary School and Al Quadssiyeh Secondary School.
Commenting on the campaign, Saif Ibrahim Al Nuaimi, Director of Career Guidance and Planning Centre, Tanmia said: “The local employment market is continuously changing and students need guidance and help to define their career in an environment experiencing significant transformations in technology and industry requirements. By establishing these information bureaus, Tanmia is helping to educate students in understanding the changes to help them make a career choice that is tailored to both their own, and industry requirements.”
“We are dedicated to students welfare as we have launched an additional campaign whereby Tanmia distributes brochures and fliers regarding upcoming events, further information and further points of contact. We are very committed to following-up our information bureaus and we are continuously conducting opinion polls about the quality and usefulness of the information provided,” Al Nuaimi added.
Tanmia recently launched an innovative system designed to gather comprehensive and reliable data about the GCC labour market and offers the information through trusted channels to employers, training institutions, employment services and job seekers. By implementing such measures, Tanmia helps to integrate labour market policies, monitor demographic changes and ensures increased employment of nationals across the region.
