Artist McKenzie, recipient of ARTV Fine Art Awards for Mixed Media, SOLD OUT her original artwork and posters at the all-star Aly & AJ Benefit Concert to raise money for the AmberWatch Foundation. “I was thrilled to see the response to my art”, says the artist, “I am so happy to be the official artist for Amberwatch and to be working with such wonderful people. I tried to capture the energy and passion of these amazing musicians (Aly & AJ) in my painting. These girls are bubbling over with talent with hearts of gold to match!
Aly & AJ, stars from the Disney channel and nominees at this year’s American Music Awards, stunned the packed house with their electrifying performance. Celebrities attending were Lorenzo Lamas, Randy Jackson, Marilu Henner, Mitchel Musso, Levar Burton, Jim Edmonds, as well as many others.
“We are so excited about working with the girls and the foundation. We are all so passionate about the cause. There is nothing more important than protecting our children.” says the Artist’s Manager, Steven Rice.
McKenzie, who is known for her charitable works, created an original piece of artwork depicting Aly & AJ that was sold for thousands of dollars at auction during the VIP Event. A commemorative poster from the painting was also made for the event. It too, sold out to the adoring fans of the duo. All of the money raised through the sale of the art goes directly to the AmberWatch Foundation.
About The AmberWatch Foundation: The foundation is dedicated to the prevention of child abduction and molestation. Through its "Be Safe!" Education Program, the Foundation's mission is to (by the end of 2008) educate 25 million elementary-aged children, and their parents, on how to identify potential endangerment scenarios and stay out of the hands of abductors and predators.
